Describe a perfect world

Describe a perfect world

Outline:
1. Describe the problems in the actual world.
2. Describe how such problems would not exist in a perfect world.
3. Describe the people in a perfect world.
4. Describe what living in a perfect world would be like.

Everyday when we read the newspaper, we see the problems of the world highlighted – the Gulf War, civil wars, starvation, violence and the destruction of the environment. All these seem to be the order of this world. In my opinion, the source of all these problems is the people and not the world. It is the people who shape the world and have made it what it is today. In a perfect world, the people need not be totally perfect. They may still be jealous and greedy. However, so long as the people do not allow their baser emotions to override their higher principles, there would be no deliberate destruction of another person’s happiness.

As a result, wars would be non-existent. Conflicts and confrontations would serve only as a step to improvement, and not used as an instrument to gain power. Cooperation would reign in the end.

In a perfect world, the people would not only refrain from hurting other people, they would also strive to do good things. No one should be contented unless he can be sure that his neighbor is enjoying the same comforts that he is. Therefore, the resources abundant in one country would be shared with others.

The need for policemen would not be necessary. If people are not selfless and can rely on one another’s good character, there will be no violence.

The sad truth is that it is man who is destroying our planet. Man is filled with greed, selfishness and violence. Hopefully, one day people will collectively come to their senses and make a conscious effort to clean up the mess they have made so far.

  1. This is part of the reason I believe in Jesus... I don't think we can put our hope in anything of this world, not even ourselves. We need a savior... We were made by God to be with Him and follow Him. The farther we stray from Him, the worse the world gets. But I am talking about the REAL God of the Bible. The kind that has a love so powerful and pure that Jesus would give up His life for His enemies...us, so that we through faith in Him could be forgiven for our brokenness and sin. Jesus is the answer!!! What kind of God sacrifices everything He has for His people... that is the kind of God I want to follow! It it the one the world needs.
